Students and Co-ops

Working through a four month or extended term, our Students and Co-ops work closely with the firm’s staff accountants, senior accountants, managers and partners to ensure completion of engagements in an efficient manner.

Staff Accountants

Our Staff Accountants have the opportunity to work on a variety of client files preparing file working papers, assisting in completion of audits, review and notice to readers, working on tax returns and working closely with firm partners, managers and other staff.

Senior Staff Accountants

Senior Staff Accountants prepare audit, review and notice to reader working paper files, prepare financial statements and complete complex income tax returns including trust, personal and corporate. Responsible for the more complicated aspects of a client file, Senior Staff Accountants submit information filings, and complete analysis such as forecasts and projections.

Tax Accountants

Tax Accountants work directly with the firm’s Tax partner and prepare and review client engagements for tax related activities. The Tax team is involved in reviewing corporate, complex personal and trust returns. Tax specialists liaise with staff accountants, senior staff accountants and partners to ensure efficient and effective tax planning for clients.

Required Education

CPA, CA/CGA/CMA designation, or working towards a designation; depending upon the role, some specialized education may be necessary. All Staff are responsible for creating and maintaining good client relationships and working closely and directly with clients.

Technicians and Administrative Staff

Our Technician and Administrative staff work closely with designated Accountants and the whole team providing support and administrative knowledge and focus for the firm.

Senior Accountant Role

Senior Accountant Role:

  • Preparation of audit, review, and notice to reader working paper files
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Preparation of income tax returns (trust, personal and corporate)
  • Submission of information filings
  • Supervision of junior staff and contributing to their on-going professional development
  • Completion of analysis such as forecasts and projections

Education and Experience:

  • Accounting designation
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in auditing, financial statement preparation and general accounting
  • Experience with CaseWare, CaseView and TaxPrep
