Today, we celebrate the incredible career and well-earned retirement of Michael Scott, a Principal and Retired Partner whose legacy at Ford Keast LLP will continue to shape our firm for years to come.
Michael’s journey began with a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, and over the next 40 years, he built a career defined by deep expertise in accounting, auditing, and business advisory services. His client base has spanned industries including construction, non-profits, nursing home operations, and owner-managed businesses, and his commitment to delivering thoughtful, strategic guidance has left a lasting impact on every client he served.
Internally, Michael played a pivotal role in transforming Ford Keast LLP into the innovative and forward-thinking practice it is today. As Firm Managing Partner in 2021 and 2022, he provided steady leadership and a clear vision. His contributions to our internal processes, especially around IT infrastructure and software, helped modernize and streamline operations, enhancing our efficiency and positioning the firm for long-term growth.
Michael’s efforts were never limited to the office. He has been a dedicated community builder, giving generously of his time and expertise. From serving as Director and Chair of Finance at King’s University College to his volunteer work with Bethany’s Hope Foundation and coordinating free tax clinics for Hutton House Association clients, Michael has exemplified the values of service and generosity throughout his career.
In recognition of these professional and community contributions, Michael was awarded the FCPA designation in 2020, an honour reserved for those who bring distinction and pride to the CPA profession.
Today, as Michael steps into retirement and embraces the joys of grandparenthood, we offer our heartfelt thanks. His leadership, mentorship, and quiet drive for excellence have shaped the culture and capabilities of Ford Keast LLP in ways that will continue to influence and inspire for years to come.
